Not all who wander are lost. - JRR Tolkein

Kære Familie,

How was your guys' week?  Things were good here this week.  A little hectic but we survived.  Just a bunch of random stuff that got in the way of real missionary work.  The biggest thing was what is called Karneval.  It is a giant parade where everybody dresses up and basically they all get drunk and trash the whole city.  It's whacked!  It is impossible to do missionary work during the whole thing (which lasts about 2 days).  I'm glad that I didn't even try.  We had a service project on Saturday, which was the day of the main event.  As we walked to the bus station the main street outside of our apartment was PACKED with people!  As we walked down the street, everybody was just shouting and music was blaring ridiculously loud!  Everybody was dressed up in ridiculous things.  The girls just looked like sluts and the guys did a lot of cross dressing.  It was all really just disgusting if you ask me.  As we walked, people were throwing water balloons with beer in them out windows and squirting each other with beer filled water guns.  Needless to say, I was glad to be busy  the rest of the day.  Everybody started drinking at around 830am.  By the time we came home that day, the city was a mess!!!!!  The entire center was just filled with trash!  All of the bars were exploding full of people.  So yeah that was pretty exciting to say the least.

Other than that, it was pretty quiet last week.  For some reason the past couple weeks, it's been really hard to get motivated and get out the door.  So I'm hoping that this week will be better.  Love and miss ya'll tons.

Hej med jer, (I really like the quote for this week!! - SV)

Well, not too much to report after yesterday.  It was really good to talk to you guys!  We had a pretty good week.  As I told you about our investigators, things are slowly starting to pick up.  This week we got back in contact with an investigator that the others haven't talked to in a long time. We got that new investigator from Romania and we hope to keep going with him this week and work even harder.

On Saturday, the other Elders had a baptism.  That was really good for them.  It's always really special to see people get baptized you can always feel the Spirit super strong.  She showed up 30 min late to her baptism and the bishop joked that she's already running on Mormon standard time.  haha

I'm glad that you guys had a good Mothers Day.  Sorry this email isn't that long.  Love and miss ya tons!  Here are some good pictures.

Happy Mother's Day to Me

We had a wonderful talk with William on Sunday.  He looked good, except for being a little thin, and was in good spirits.  We were able to Skype with him for about an hour and a half.  He thinks he will finish his mission in Aalborg.  He does have an official release date now - October 25, 2012.  He is extending a month since the new missionaries replacing him don't come in until that day.  I'm just really glad that I am not Barb with Jeff extending from 18 months to 24.  I think that might have done me in!!  He sends his love to all of you and can't wait to see everyone when he gets home!

Hej med jer,

How are we doing?  Sounds like an adventure this week with the whole water heater stuff.  We had a relatively good week here.  Nothing too exciting.  Just out trying to give this new family mission plan that the mission created to get the members excited, out to everyone.  It's not really working yet, but we finally got our first eating appointment since I've been here for Thursday, so that will be good!

This week we had literally almost nothing except for contacting and looking for the few people that we had.  We played basketball on Wednesday night after Institute.  We did have two service projects this week.  One was helping this couple move and the other one was basically turning a weed field into a garden.  It was five hours of pulling weeds and moving fresh dirt over.  It actually wasn't bad, it was fun to do some actual service.

This sharing the area thing isn't going so well.  We have almost no investigators and are trying to build the area from scratch.  Unfortunately, that's about all I've got.  There's not too much from this week.  I'm looking forward to the call on Sunday.  I don't know the specifics yet, but it will be in the morning for you guys.  I'm hoping to Skype.  I'll email ya'll later.  Love and miss ya tons!
