Kære Familie,

How goes it???  BYU IS IN THE SWEET 16!!!!!!!  Actually, really funny story behind how we found out.  So we called our investigator from NJ to remind him to come to church.  He asked if we followed BYU basketball?  We said heck yes.  He then told us that they beat St. Johns to go to the Sweet 16.  We knew they would play St. Johns or Gonzaga so we were super stoked and basically Missionary celebrated for a while.  We called Æ. Meyer who is like the only other BYU basketball fan to tell him.  Then he said that the senior couple in Copenhagen said they were playing Gonzaga not St. Johns and that the game wasn't until 145am here.  (Æ. Jensen the senior miss. ended up watching the game:( ).  So now we were all depressed because we didn't know if we would win or not.  The next morning, Christina, a way cool younger member texted us the score and we ended up flipping out all over again!  So yeah, we're not trusting investigators with scores ever again!

So this was another hard week since we were in Copenhagen for Zone Conference and Leadership mtg for two days.  I was on splits on Thurs on Amager while Mauler went to his meeting.  It was definitely an interesting splits.  The senior companion was this guy who has been out for 4 months longer than me, but can hardly speak Danish and actually just hardly speaks.  He would NOT do any of the doors that we knocked and when we did he would just lurk in the shadows creepily and not say anything.  So it was Æ. Klc (Kelch) who was in the group right in front of me and me.  So that was interesting.  Coming back we took the metro to the nearest station near the office, but its still like two miles from the office.  Meanwhile, its freezing cold and pouring rain!  We walk to the bus stop only to see the most packed bus I have ever seen.  Literally there was no room for us.  So we walk.  We come to another bus which has a little bit more room, but not 50 ft down the road, it breaks down.  Back to the cold and wet to start walking.  We finally get there and are tired, cold and sopping wet!!!  Only to leave right away for the train station.  Blah!

Transfer Madness is back up.  Picks are due today and transfers are in a little over 2 weeks.  That should add some excitement to our lives for a little bit.  Our baptismal date is still scheduled on going through.

Hope all is going well!!!  Love and miss ya tons!!!

William's Testimony in Danish

Hello All,

This is William's testimony that he shared with me in a letter this week.  I thought it was so neat that I wanted to share it with all of you.  William is writing in all caps so if I made mistakes in Danish capitalization I apologize.  I hope you will be able to feel the spirit of his testimony even though my transcription skills may not be the best. - The Mom

Here is the translation from Google Translate - I fixed some things that seemed a little off.  Google is not really good at church vocabulary!!

This is my testimony in Danish, even though you can not understand. I just hope that you can feel how much I love gospel. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. He loves and knows us all personally. He feels our pain. He suffered for us so that we can repent come closer to Him. Because of his love for us, he restored His church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. He saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. They talked with him face to face. I know that the Book of Mormon is true! I know it was translated by the power of God through the prophet Joseph.  Every day I read from the Book of Mormon, The Holy Spirit testifies to me that it is God's word. I love Jesus. He really is the Christ, Savior of the world, our Redeemer.

Much love to you all and thank you for the continued prayers and support on behalf of our missionary.  He misses you all and asks about you every email. - The Mom

Another Week in Slagese - March 14, 2011

Kære Familie,

Another week gone.  Overall it was pretty uneventful.  We did alot of knocking this past week.  The weather has finally warmed up a little bit and today it's raining.  We have Zone conference this week and Leadership training for Mauler while I go on Splits to Amager for the day.  We also tried to meet with our Brazilian investigator who has been ready for baptism for the past 6 months.  She just keeps putting it off.

Speaking of disaster, the big news is in Japan.  A lot of people are way scared for what is going to happen over there.  Also a couple weeks ago, I don't know if you heard, there was a Danish family taken hostage by Somalian pirates.  They are from Kalundborg which is in our area.  Nothing really exciting to report this week.  We went on splits to Nykøbing and played darts with their homemade darts.  That was pretty fun.  The Nykøbing Elders are way cool.  It's hard to serve down there because it's way small and all you can do really is just bank (knock in Danish).

Sorry, this email isn't very detailed.  But seriously its been a quiet week.  Nobody got on my nerves, and no stunning miracles.  Hope all is well with you guys.  I promise a better letter next week.  Love and miss ya'll tons.

The Boring week for me, Pretty exciting for you!!!!

Kære familie, (Jeff was made Bishop of our ward on March 6, 2011 - The Mom)

Holy cow.  Reading your emails, you guys had tons more happen to you than to me.  Dad got made bishop!?!?!?!  Hahaha, he shouldn't have said that he was never going to do that, made him ripe for the picking  ;).  And then congratulations on the new dog. (We are now the proud owners of a beautiful Golden Retriever puppy named Maya)  She looks way cute.  I am a little bit bummed I don't get to see her until next year.  That was fun to hear you got an email from Præs. Andersen.  Hope he didn't tell you too many embarrassing things about me.(He didn't - it was all praise about what a wonderful son we have!!)  So this week, we banked the whole week.  We weren't able to meet with a bunch of our investigators for various weird reasons, but we met with the way positive girl, I told you about last week.  And, well she's way positive.  We met with her in the church on Thursday and when we asked what it would mean to her personally if the Book of Mormon was true, she said that she already felt like it was true.  (I wanted to be like, ok well the fonts right across the hall, let's get you dunked before you can change your mind!)  We then invited her to be baptized on Mar. 26 and she said, "Selvfølgelig!" (of course).  So that was the highlight of our week.

Går det godt med dig? (Goes well with you)  Oh, before I forget, Rest in Peace Peaches.  Have you guys gotten a new hamster or are you sticking to the dog for now?  (Believe it or not we did get a new hamster the very day that Peaches died - Joshua named her Lucy)  This coming week we hope to meet with a bunch of investigators, but they never seem to have time.  If not we may go to Nykøbing for splits.  Next week is Zone Conference!  Thanks for everything.  Hope ya'll have a good week!  Jeg savner og elsker jer! (I miss and love you)
