I had a much better week this week. We had a lot of success with dropping by to visit people. Everyone seemed to be at home and willing to talk. There is one guy who is a Christian from Lebanon. He immigrated here when he married a Dane. He was home with his very sweet elderly neighbor. Anyway, we were talking about the Trinity and how we don't believe in it like the Catholics do and we told him that we were all children of our Heavenly Father. He screamed at us that we were blasphemers! I almost started laughing just because it was something that you would expect in the Bible belt, but no here we were being accused in Denmark by a Middle Easterner. He then claimed that all people who didn't believe in God were bad people. He said this right next to his agnostic neighbor. If she isn't a good person then nobody is! Anyway it was just a little funny.
Zone Conference was really good. President Sederholm is a really good guy! His family is also really solid. They were all a little shell shocked, but after only 3 days that is understandable. But he was just.....American. Its hard to explain, but there was a clear difference between him and President Andersen. Don't get me wrong, President Andersen is a fabulous man and was a wonderful mission president, but often I felt like I was just being preached at and treated like a robot. President Sederholm taught by letting us teach ourselves. There were a lot more comments than normal. I don't think he intimidated everyone as much as President Andersen did.
4th of July was good. We were supposed to go to Rebild, but do to circumstances that will only make me upset we couldn't go. There is a giant Danish-American Festival 20km south of Aalborg every 4 th of July. The queen comes along with the prime minister. President Bush and Regan have both spoken there before as well as Elder Russell M. Nelson. Anyway I really wanted to go, but instead we did a bbq with A. It was good, but not Rebild.
The best part of the week was going out by 2 hr bus to a new convert. She wasn't there, but we got to chill with her way cool son, who is 13. He has like 20 airsoft guns and so we just went out and shot stuff for an hour until the return bus came back. It was so fun!
Yesterday, we drove to Randers with the Despains and O. (a new convert from Peru) to give one of the Despains friends their camera that they left while visiting. Anyway on the way back we went to some Viking ruins and there are pictures below.
That was the week! Hope ya'll have a good one!
